How DartScorator Works
This guide explains the complete flow: account setup, PIN approvals, game modes, tournament control, remote keypad, and player directory usage.
1. Sign Up and Player PIN
When registering, you can set an optional 4-6 digit Player Approval PIN. This PIN is only used on shared host devices when someone adds you to a game. It is not your login password.
- Create account with email + password.
- Optionally set Player PIN during registration (or later in profile settings).
- Hosts never need their own PIN when adding themselves.
- When another player is selected in directory, entering the correct PIN auto-selects them for Add.
- PIN approvals are device-bound and time-limited to reduce repeated entry.
2. Local Game
Local Game is for in-room play on one host setup. Configure format and add players from favorites, directory, or ad hoc entries.
- Select game type (301/501/701/Cricket), format, check-in/out, sets, and legs.
- Add players and reorder throwing order via drag & drop.
- Use “Add Selected Players” to transfer selected rows directly into the match.
- Start game and track score, averages, legs, and sets in real time.
3. Remote Match
Remote Match allows host and guest to play from different locations with synchronized scoring and optional TV mode.
- Host creates room and shares code/link with guest.
- Guest joins room and both players confirm match setup.
- Throws and turn state synchronize automatically across both clients.
- Leg/set/game modals are synchronized so transitions remain consistent.
4. Tournament
Tournament mode supports Swiss, Round Robin, and Single Knockout workflows with pairings and standings.
- Create tournament and define match structure/rules.
- Add players from directory, favorites, or ad hoc creation.
- Generate rounds/pairings and launch matches by code.
- Track standings, progress bracket, and continue matches from dashboard.
5. Remote Keypad
Remote Keypad lets players submit throws from mobile devices while the main game UI stays on host screen/TV.
- Open Mobile Keypad tab and generate pairing QR/code.
- Pair phone in browser and confirm connected device.
- Use keypad to submit throws, with score sync to game state.
- Unpair/revoke devices from settings when needed.
6. Player Directory
Directory is the central user lookup for adding players to local games and tournaments.
- Search by name/email and use live filters (country, min AVG, favorites first).
- Mark favorites with star toggle for faster future selection.
- Create up to 5 ad hoc players per host (auto-favorited).
- Use PIN approval flow for shared device player confirmation.
